USB Flash Drives

USB Flash offers many advantages over more conventional mass storage devices. Flash drives are more compact then other data storage devices provide faster access, are immune to shocks and scratches that lead to failure in other data storage devices and do not require a special drive to operate. USB flash drives only require a USB 2.0 port. USB flash uses the FAT or FAT 32 file system so they are compatible with a wide range of operating systems. Although USB flash drives appear as a "drive" in the file system they are not actually drives. USB flash drives are solid state memory with no moving parts and that's what makes them superior to other types of mechanical storage like floppy disks, hard drives, tape and even optical disc storage.
