CD Duplication Towers

CD Duplicator towers consist of two or more CD recorders in a single tower chassis (similar to a PC tower in size). They can create multiple copies of a CD-R simultaneously, with the number of simultaneous copies limited only by the number of recorders. With a tower duplicator, you need to load and unload each CD-R or Recorder in the tower. Recording parameters and settings are typically entered through a simple series of buttons on the front of the tower, or via some PC resident software application. Tower duplicators are ideal for making a relatively small quantity of CDs very quickly. Any printing on the CDs cannot be done in a Tower duplicator, and instead must be done on a separate printer or with paper labels.

These duplicators are able to duplicate discs without the need of a PC or server. This is achieved through specially designed processor boards installed within the tower (or rackmount). These boards contain a specialized CPU that manages the recording process and is controlled via the LCD panel on the front of the tower. Some units include a hard drive that can provide disc mirroring. This lets you store several CDs on the hard drive, and then select the disc you wish to duplicate. Many also allow for track extraction so you can create a compilation disc. Most towers also allow selectable recording speeds. This means if a recorder has a maximum recording speed of say 52X, you could set the recording speed to a slower setting, like 8X speed. An LED panel is used to set the duplication job settings in standalone tower duplicators. The display provides the command interface and allows the operator to monitor the duplication session while in process. There are many advantages in using standalone tower duplicators. These include low cost, simple operation, and not tying up the resources of a computer. You get one-button duplication, without having to be a rocket scientist. They are much like a typical office machine, and are a true "disc copier".
